Firstly, Urban Decay is having a Cyber Monday sale with 50% off its Sustainable and Deluxe Eye Palettes!
The primer duo is a good deal at $22 and there are also some good sale items. There is the pro size eye primer at 33% off and the Book of Shadows and Black Palette at 50% off. Go Get something!
Now… It’s being acquired….
Urban Decay, an edgy hip cosmetic company, will be acquired by L’Oreal for $300 – 400 Million.
I’ve loved its edgy look and packaging. Its peacock green eye liner pencils, it’s liquid eye liner bottles that looked a bit like a pretty bottle of poison…
Many of us love their unique eye shadow colors with intense pigment and high staying power! My favorite was the wallpaper palette. I tried the Vice palette and loved it. I’m waiting to try the Naked 2 palette soon.
The eye shadow primers have a been a hit and one of my new favorites is their cream to powder compact foundation that just glides on smoothly.
Many brands loose their edge and iconic emblem once they are bought by large conglomerates where there is pressure to increase sales and appeal to a broader market. I hope Urban Decay will maintain its hip and cutting edge style!
A favorite among young consumers looking for edgier make up looks, Urban Decay reported net sales of $130 million for the year ending June 2012. Existing owners, private equity firm Castanea Partners, were seeking $350 million for Urban Decay during the sale process. Assuming a $350 milllion acquisition price, this would represent a 2.7x LTM Revenue.
Urban Decay is part of the specialist make-up segment that makes up 44% of the luxury make-up market. It has primarily been sold through self-service, consumer discovery channels such as sephora.com and urbandecay.com
The acquisition will add a high growth make up specialist brand with a young consumer following to L’Oreal’s brands. L’Oreal could offer greater distribution and access to new markets but will hopefully be selective in where it chooses to sell Urban Decay and prevent the dilution and specialty image of the brand.
Skinstore.com is having a 20% off storewide with up to 30% discount on selected brands.
There is an awesome high quality gift bag worth $450 with plenty of great full size & deluxe sampler items and I would love to have it!! So if you can stock up, I recommend you grab this bag!
Listing the Black Friday deals and codes I come across. I’m only listing the ones where you actually get a discount (X% off or $X off). I didn’t bother to list the free gifts cos really, I need a discount, not free gifts. And technically, they’re not free and I’m paying for that gift I don’t need because you won’t give me a discount. So there =P

I may be a beauty addict and trying very hard to preserve my youth but there is a limit to what I’ll do…
The recent beauty rage is Snail Cream and I was happily using the internet when I saw a targeted pop up advert suggestion I buy a lovely pink jar of Snail Cream to brighten my skin and preserve my youth.
Apparently it’s got strong anti aging properties. BUT STILL…. NO THANKS!!Some pregnant women also choose placentophagia where they get a Placentologist (i made that up) to grind up their placenta and mix it with herbs so they can in essence, eat their placenta.
January Jones apparently chose to eat her placenta…
Can’t say i’m a fan of eating a bloodied placenta even if it’s mine, even if that’s what some animals do.
There is only so much I’ll do for youth and beauty…
Anyone has stories? Share!
Hi, My name is B and I’m an addict — a beauty addict.
There, I said it.
I love skin care and make up. As the years go by, I’m getting freaked out about the possibility of wrinkles and the slight fine lines that send me into overdrive when I think of how they could develop into wrinkles. A cup of tea or a drink helps calm me down but that’s another story. (ps: alcochol is not good for your skin. dammit!)
I had my first lipgloss at 14, my first eye gel at 15 and have since tried to smother my beauty addict self into the cupboard. Recently, that hasn’t worked out very well. It’s unleashed itself.
It’s Sephora’s VIB 20% weekend. Well almost over in 2 days…
I’ve frantically trying to think of the things I need.*nervous laugh*.
I had to take stock to figure out what I needed – i mean literally take stock.
As in go through my basket of facial products and drawer of skin care and makeup waiting to be used and beauty box of make up and bathroom shelf of skin care items.
A sign you’re a beauty nut? When you think about setting up an excel spreadsheet to keep track of the skincare items you have in the 5 categories… It sounds like I’m announcing an Oscar.
The 5 categories: Breakout Busting, Hydrating, Anti-Aging, Brightening/Eveness, Eyecare
So multiply 5 categories by 2 product types (usually serums or moisturizers) and I have to keep track of 10 sub-categories!!! That’s a lot! and you wonder why i needed a spreadsheet.
Anyway I decided I’m good at starting things like Skin Care Spreadsheet but not so good at keeping them updated. So I nixed the idea and I”ll use my trusty mental brain system. gotta love that.
I think I have enough skincare hanging around to be used.
Well I guess I don’t really need anything…
But what if I miss something!!!
If you have a favorite skincare product let me know! =)
